Cambridge Libraries Connect

Cambridge Libraries Connect - Library Management System replacement programme

The Libraries Connect Programme is working to replace the University’s current Library Management System (LMS) and it discovery services with a new modern capability that meets the future needs of the University and the users of its libraries.

The new discovery service, iDiscover, was launched in Sept 2016. It provides students, researchers and staff with a unified experience of library services across the University which is accessed from a single interface.  It provides a single tool to search and explore library materials across all of the collections of the University, bringing together print and digital publications, articles, newspapers, web resources (both subscription and free), and content from the institutional repository, Apollo.

The new library management system, Alma, is planned for launch in January 2018. For libraries, the new LMS will provide library staff with a single platform for managing both digital and print collections that will optimise workflows, working for the first time from a single shared data source.
